H2 for Building (Heating+Electricity)
Posted by Thomas Kalkofen on March 7, 2023 at 08:01I am looking for a technical, inexpensive overall solution for small residential units to be able to temporarily store electricity generated with photvolthaik as H2 and convert it back into electricity.

Hello Thomas,
how long would you like to store the energy generated for (approximately)?
I am not aware of an all-in-one product that fits the residential scale, but you could look on the HyFindr website to find the constiuent components for the hydrogen part of the design, such as:
– an electolyser;
– a hydrogen pump or compressor;
– a storage tank (or other hydrogen storage technology);
– a fuel cell system; and
– some of the sensors and actuators you would need.This might help you to get an idea of what the overall system would look like with ready-to-buy, off the shelf components. Getting all the components to work together would also require some expertise.

If you’re looking for an example where this concept has been implemented already, you could have a look at the “First energy self-sufficient apartment building in Brütten” by Umwelt Arena Schweiz.
The website is written in German, but if you’d like to read more about it there are some nice resources here: https://www.umweltarena.ch/ueber-uns/architektur-und-bauprojekte/#energieautarkes_mehrfamilienhaus
There is also a nice overview diagram of the way they set up this house which you can take a look at here: https://www.umweltarena.ch/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Grafik_EAMFH_mit_Text_RGB_72dpi.jpg

I hope this helps you with your search and have a nice day!

Hello Joseph
I am looking for a complete solution (electrolyzer, storage, safety devices,…) for a net power of 4-50kw electrical power. Furthermore I am looking for a producer of these plants, who can design these components to the concrete demand. Of course, this also requires one or more investors.
