• Can the pressure vessel be reused and remanufactured?

    I’m searching for reused and remanufactured pressure vessel, but I don’t know is it technically doable it is. Does anyone have some idea about it? or know somebody who is doing that?

    Hi Wangying Liu, are you referring to Type IV (700 bar) hydrogen storage vessels? If yes, they do have a finite lifetime from the manufacturer. Normally they are stamped with the expiry data on them and then must be replaced. I have never heard of anyone rebuilding them. The tanks are usually set for a certain number of cycles (pressurization/de-pressurization) and this is used to calculate the expiry date (expected # cycles per year). If you are referring to a different type of pressure vessel, please specify they type and material.
